Neem stronger than ACTs

A very important paper posted on http://www.malariaworld.org (Enabling factors facilitating the use of neem-based remedies for the management of malaria … ).
An apotheosis of herbal medicine
It documents in an excellent way the superiority of herbal medicine against malaria when compared with ACTs.
It describes well the difficulties of the African population from villages to reach dilapidated health centers, to wait during hours for treatment to be finally turned down because the pharmaceutical pills are not available and if available cause adverse events.
I knew that neem and moringa were efficient against malaria, but their efficacy as experienced by the people in Malawi is a strong surprise. Particularly when used in powder form (P Weathers pACTs), mixed with porridge or encapsulated. Also for small children.
It confirms the efficiency we have seen for neonates, using Artemisia annua capsules or lemonade made with this plant.
It confirms the finding of Patrick Ogwang that Artemisia annua mixed with other plants (Artavol) is prophylactic.
It confirms the finding ot Constant Kansongo that regular consumption of Artemisia raises the CD4 and works as anti-HIV (see ref 22,23)
We learn also from this paper that the first-line treatment used by African mothers are antipyretics and analgesics. The wrong approach, as we have shown in a document we posted on http://www.malariaworld.org(artemisinin and aspirin, beware ?) . And which can even have deadly consequences.
More positive is the finding of African women that neem makes beer more tasty and prophylactic against many diseases. Lets import neem from Africa to replace the hops from Flanders.

The shame is that plantation and research projects we had submitted 4 years ago with African partners for herbal medicine were turned down by our sponsors due to negative comments from WHO. Or as an expert from ITG Antwerp stated « This kind of project could never be published in a scientific journal. Supporting such a project is certainly NOT something that will give Luxembourg a good reputation in science“.
